Key Information
This course is designed for anyone who is working in a charity or fundraising role looking to explore the use of AI in the workplace. It is suitable for those in senior roles who want to ensure ethical standards are maintained by their teams, as well as charity professionals responsible for administration, content generation, or fundraising.

This course is designed to empower confidence in your knowledge to utilise AI tools in your daily work. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the opportunities AI presents, introduce you to a range of tools which can help save time and improve efficiency, and encourage you to consider the appropriateness of AI adoption in your organisation.

Session 1: AI Foundations for Fundraisers
  • What is AI? (Predictive vs generative, demystifying the jargon)
  • Public attitudes and where the charity sector is right now
  • Key risks: bias, hallucinations, privacy, environmental impact
  • Case studies (what went wrong, what went right)
Homework: try one tool before Session 2

Session 2: AI in Practice for Fundraisers
  • Text, image and fundraising-specific tools
  • Drafting a fundraising appeal with AI
  • Responsible AI Framework and organisational governance
By the end of each session, learners will be able to:
Session 1
  • Describe what AI is and its potential impact on our future
  • Identify AI tools that could be useful for your fundraising or organisation
Session 2
  • Explain the ethical and privacy implications of using AI
  • Create a piece of written fundraising material using an AI tool
Two learning outcomes are explored in depth on each of the two sessions. Learners will leave with tools they can use apply immediately, not just ideas.
